Metric Music ("we", "our", "us") is an artist channel-management platform for independent musicians in India, operated by Metric Music. Our registered address is India. You can contact us at hello@metricmusic.com.

Account Information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and artist name.

Profile Information: Artist links (Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, Instagram), bio, genre, and profile photo URL that you choose to provide.

Payment Information: Payments are processed via Razorpay. We do not store your card or bank details on our servers. We retain transaction IDs and amounts for accounting purposes.

Usage Data: We collect standard server logs including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps to operate and improve the service.

Analytics Data: For smart links and artist profiles, we collect anonymised click data including hashed IP addresses, referrer URLs, and approximate country — to generate growth reports for artists.

We use your information to:
• Provide, operate, and improve the Metric Music platform
• Set up your Official Artist Channels and verified profiles on third-party platforms
• Generate monthly analytics and growth reports
• Send service updates, billing notifications, and support communications
• Comply with legal obligations under Indian law (IT Act 2000, IT Rules 2011)

We integrate with the following third-party services to deliver our product:
• Spotify Web API — to fetch artist follower counts and popularity scores (we never access your Spotify credentials)
• YouTube Data API — to fetch channel statistics when you authorise your channel
• Razorpay — for payment processing (subject to Razorpay's privacy policy)
• Google OAuth — for optional YouTube channel connection

Your use of these integrations is also governed by those platforms' privacy policies.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. We may share data with trusted service providers who assist us in operating the platform (hosting, email delivery, payment processing) under strict confidentiality agreements. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of Metric Music and its users.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide services. After account deletion, we may retain anonymised data for up to 12 months for analytics and legal compliance purposes. Payment records are retained for 7 years as required by Indian accounting standards.

Under applicable Indian data protection law, you have the right to:
• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Withdraw consent for optional data processing

We use essential session cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences (such as dark/light mode). We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect the functionality of the platform.

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords (bcrypt), and access controls. No method of internet transmission is 100% secure — if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a prominent notice on the platform. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
